Report on PV System Performance Ideal Homes ...
On January 25 and 26, 2006, a series of i-V (current-voltage) curve measurements were made at on the PV (photovoltaic) system at Ideal Homes’ Zero-Energy Home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In this report we describe using these short-term measurements to calibrate a TRNSYS (2) simulation model for predicting long-term performance of the photovoltaic (PV) system installed at the house. We demonstrate the model’s accuracy by comparing measured hourly data over the period of January through March, 2006 to hourly performance prediction using the simulation model driven by measured weather data. Finally, a prediction of annual performance using TMY (Typical Meteorological Year) data is made using the calibrated model.
